As reported by Weasel Zippers, Occupiers in Portland laid down on the railroad tracks in order to shut down the port. One of the protesters, identified as Lotus, placed her four year old daughter on the tracks. When asked about whether it was dangerous, Lotus replied:
I have faith in humanity. I don’t think that any person driving a train is going plow thorough a bunch of people, people with children.
If one has faith in humanity, that is good. However, I have no faith in Lotus to be a caring mother for her daughter. No parent willfully puts their child in harms way, and no parent makes the assumption that the “humanity” of the conductor can also ensure that the brakes will work. As the video capably declares at the end:
Faith in humanity has little bearing on the ability of an Engineer to stop a loaded train!
This is emblematic of the far-fetched nature of the leftist-progressive doctrine. They believe that love will save them, without regard for physics. May G-d have mercy on that 4 year old girl.
