Piers Morgan Tries To Bully Ben Shapiro, Calls Constitution “Your Little Book”

When author and Breitbart.com’s Editor at Large Ben Shapiro appeared on the program to promote his book, Bullies, Morgan attempted the same tactics. Shaprio pulled out a copy of the US Constitution to fully engage the importance of the 2nd Amendment as a safeguard for the American people against tyrants. Morgan mocked this idea, and referred to Shapiro’s copy of the Consitution as “…your little book.”

The video is stunning. Not for Shapiro’s understanding of the situation and his cool, calm and collected style of refuting Morgan’s ignorance while elevating the level of debate. Rather it is for the expose of Morgan’s ignorance.

Morgan, as Shapiro pointed out, is philosophically inconsistent. Like far too many Liberals, he is hot to ban “assault weapons,” like those used in Sandy Hook and the movie theater shooting in Aurora, CO. Yet, he has no answer for the hundreds of murders that have taken place in Chicago in 2012, the majority of which used a handgun. It would be “consistent,” or at least honest, if Leftists stated clearly that they wanted to ban all guns. (This is, of course, their desire. They are, as we know, not honest.)

Morgan’s unwillingness to recognize that government can become tyrannical is beyond the pale. He openly mocked Shapiro for acknowledging the reality of history, saying that he sounds “absurd.” There is nothing absurd about the recognition that governments can, and have throughout history, turned on their citizens. The Declaration of Independence reads as much, stating:

…when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.–Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies

Either Morgan is a dunce, or, like we know, he is not honest. In Morgan’s own words, “People aren’t stupid. They can make up their own minds.”
