Tony Katz, host of The Tony Katz Show, spoke at the Defending The Dream Summit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin about the legacy of Andrew Breitbart.
Tony Katz, host of The Tony Katz Show, talks about the death of Andrew Breitbart, what we have learned and what comes next.
In the wake of Andrew Breitbart’s death, yet before any “wake” that may ever take place in his remembrance, “journalists” David Frum and Matt Taibbi have taken the occasion to do the right honorable thing and trash the living crap out of him. Leave it to the cowards to be cowards.
First was so-called conservative David Frum who, after years of fighting the culture war all by himself, was infuriated that Breitbart came in and stole all his thunder. (Oh, wait, he never fought the culture war. The only thing he ever fought for was his ability to say the word “about” without sounding like a hockey announcer.)
But nothing beats Rolling Stone scribe Taibbi, who came out with piece entitled Andrew Breitbart: Death of a Douche. It is a testament to the legacy of Breitbart that Taibbi, a seriously hateful man with a seriously hateful heart delivered some serious hate under the cowardly delusion that no response would be forthcoming due to Breitbart’s death.
Hey! Coward! Let’s break down your piece, shall we?
Taibbi starts with a classic gem:
So Andrew Breitbart is dead. Here’s what I have to say to that, and I’m sure Breitbart himself would have respected this reaction: Good! Fuck him. I couldn’t be happier that he’s dead.
How is it that you “couldn’t be happier that he’s dead” yet have nocturnal emissions over the idea that Breitbart would respect your reaction? In the first paragraph of your Tour de Force of Cowardice you admit that your entire article is based on the fantasy of Andrew Breitbart approving of you. How pathetic is that? (Also, daddy issues much? Just curious.)
Then, Taibbi goes into a round of double talk that would have Johnnie Cochran smiling:
I actually kind of liked Andrew Breitbart. Not in the sense that I would ever have wanted to hang out with him, or even be caught within a hundred yards of him without a Haz-Mat suit on…
You like a guy you wouldn’t be within 100 yards of? That’s the difference between you and Breitbart. Breitbart might not like you, but he would stand two feet in front of you and tell you why. (Right, Max Blumenthal?) When you admit that you are a coward, Matt, you go all out!
He quickly follows:
I respected the shamelessness
Do you mean the shameless way Breitbart excoriated the Leftist press for failing to live up to their journalistic standards? The shameless way he called out those who lied about racial epithets being hurled at black Congressmen? The shameless way he demanded that rapists of Occupy Wall Street “behave” themselves? The shameless way he told the truth about former Rep. Anthony Wiener?
I respect that, too. Maybe your article doesn’t suck.
Oh, wait, yes it does. On the subject of Wiener, Taibbi states:
For instance, it would be dishonest not to tip a hat to him for that famous scene when he hijacked Anthony Weiner’s own self-immolating “apology” press conference
Oh, Matt. You, and the rest of the Leftist press didn’t believe Breitbart, and bought every lie that Wiener told you. You quite literally were willing to eat the pie thrown at him, while he spoke to a crowd of 45,000, most probably with his pants off, and his penis hanging out.
The Leftist Press – which is you and your friends! – did everything to destroy Andrew Breitbart, failing spectacularly every step of the way. The Left depends on bullying, personal attacks and the echoes of their Leftist Press friends to silence the opposition. But you couldn’t silence Breitbart. Even in death his tactics, techniques and teachings are still kicking your ass.
Matt, do you think we didn’t learn those tactics, techniques and teachings as well? You call us names, we call you names. You lie, we demand you prove it. You want to get tough? Do you, Matt? Fine by us. We’re ready.
As for your article? Three paragraphs in and all you’ve done is prove that you’re a wimp looking for approval from a dead man! What a douche.
Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) gave this moving speech on the floor of the US House of Representatives, remembering Andrew Breitbart, who died today at age 43.
As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Media Matters for America (MMFA) the Soros-funded self-described media watchdog group dedicated to attacking FOX News and other conservatives, (including Dana Loesch and Andrew Breitbart, and even attempting to go after our own Tony Katz) has decided that when they can’t use facts, logic or reason, they’ll resort to name calling.
Eric Boehlert, a prominent figure and mercenary at MMFA called out “right wing” blogs for promoting hate on Twitter:
what shld be obvious, and why i’ve been highlight vile, racists RW comments, is RW blog biz model revolves arnd giving open forum to hate
That’s the MMFA way; go after the “right wing” for giving the “open forum to hate.” It’s a bold statement, devoid of facts, and full of straw-man arguments and innuendo. Yet, just two hours after decrying the full on evil of the political right, Boehlert posted this tweet:
this photo explains why Christie didn’t run for WH (not being snide; just realistic) bit.ly/ySMTdD
The link attached to the tweet went to this photo of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie:
Boehlert, the champion of being kind, sweet and loving, thinks that Gov. Christie can’t be elected president because of his weight. Media Matter was recently embroiled in a scandal where they were highlighted by a Girl Scout book as a source of media misinformation. Under the headline “Consider the Source,” the book informed these young girls that they should check with MMFA to find out what “lies” are being told in the press.
Once exposed, MMFA was removed from the book. Now, after Boehlert’s playground attack on Gov. Christie, one can see what a good thing that is. You don’t want bullies and their “vile comments” to influence the young people, do you?
As reported by Breitbart TV, Andrew Breitbart – owner and operator of the “Big” sites – has called for the resignation of Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-AL). This is in the wake of Peter Schweizer’s new book, Throw Them All Out and the revelation that Bachus, as Chair of the House Financial Services Committee, took advantage of insider information that led him to make stock moves that financially benefitted him.
Here is Andrew on The Victory Sessions with Steve Bannon and co-host Peter Schweizer. discussing the issue:
This is Tony’s latest article on BigPeace.com. While the left called FOX News and others scare-mongers for discussing the Libyan draft constitution (and its adherence to Sharia law,) it turns out that the truth was starting everyone in the face since August.
At the end of August, the great minds at Think Progress were horrified at the prospect that Libya, if Gadhafi lost power, would end up being an Islamist nation utilizing Sharia Law as the foundation for its political and legal system. More to the point, Think Progress was feigning horror at those on the political right who referenced a blog from The Heritage Foundation that highlighted a draft constitution, and made the case for this possibility. From the blog: (emphasis mine)
Much of the document describes political institutions that will sound familiar to citizens of Western liberal democracies, including rule of law, freedom of speech and religious practice, and a multi-party electoral system.
But despite the Lockean tenor of much of the constitution, the inescapable clause lies right in Part 1, Article 1: “Islam is the Religion of the State, and the principal source of legislation is Islamic Jurisprudence (Sharia).”Under this constitution, in other words, Islam is law. That makes other phrases such as “there shall be no crime or penalty except by virtue of the law” and “Judges shall be independent, subject to no other authority but law and conscience” a bit more ominous.
Think Progress thought this was such a good way to go after the political right (in attempt to demonize them as scare-mongers and anti-Muslim) that they made a video attacking FOX News reporting the draft constitution, and highlighting Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) as the voice of reason:
embedded by Embedded Video
YouTube Direkt
The clip involves numerous interviews on FOX programs, where McCain spends time praising the interim government, including a statement that these are people “…he knows well.” In one segment during an interview with Steve Doocy on FOX AND FRIENDS, McCain sounded very sure about the situation with the Constitution in Libya:
Doocy: They can be talking about Sharia Law as the basis of their new constitution, and so what we might wind up with over there is something closer to a radical islamic government. And that’s not what we want.
McCain: Well, first of all, that’s not going to happen, and this business
Doocy: I hope you’re right.
McCain: about a constitution, I mean Sharia Law. They made a statement last March where they specifically stated that it is their mission that the rights of women and the equality of women are insured.
Two days after the Heritage blog came out, BigPeace.com contributor Clare Lopez stated: (emphasis mine)
By dealing preferentially with the Muslim Brotherhood and other shariah-adherents in both Egypt and Syria, U.S. leadership is enabling the substitution of secular tyranny with Islamic tyranny in both places. If the U.S. does the same thing in Libya and fails to provide strong, visible support to the genuine democrats, liberals, and reformers that do still exist in Libya, the outcome there will not be the one dreamy-eyed groupies of the Arab Spring envisioned, butanother new regime, founded on Islamic law, that is hostile to American interests and those of our remaining friends and allies
And just days after the killing of Gadhafi by rebel forces, reports have surfaced that, indeed, Libya will use Sharia Law as its foundation. As reported by The Times of India:
Islamic sharia law will prevail in Libya and any existing laws that contradict this will be repealed, National Transitional Council leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil said on Monday. ”As an Islamic country, we have adopted Sharia as the principal law….As an example is the law on divorce and marriage … This law is contrary to Sharia and it has been scrapped.”
For those keeping score: +1 for FOX News, +1 for BigPeace.com, -1 for Sen. McCain, -1 for Think Progress. The big losers, however, are the people of Libya who will now go from bad to unthinkably worse. -2 for President Obama, for leading from behind, and, as Lopez described, for failing to provide the “strong, visible support” needed to bring about a better result for the Libyans, and the world.
